One end of the ground wire of the opgw optical cable is connected to the parallel strand clamp, and the other end is connected to the ground along the transmission line tower. A parallel strand clamp is installed on the OPGW cable on the transmission line tower of the substation to lead the OPGW optical cable down and ground. The cables are connected with the earth of the substation. At the same time, the grounding wires and OPGW optical cables that are drawn down along the transmission line towers are installed in the protective pipe.
The grounding clamp is mainly used for the grounding of the OPGW optical cable to provide a path for short-circuit current. The grounding clamp consists of a grounding wire, a set of aluminum alloy parallel groove clamps (connecting OPGW optical cable and grounding wire) and a terminal (connecting to the iron tower). Usually, one terminal tower and linear tower are equipped, and two connecting towers are equipped. The length of the grounding wire is 1.5m and 2.0m, which can be selected by users.
